Weavers Fold
Weavers Fold
Introducing a development of eight homes in the market town of Chipping Norton, expected to complete early 2024.
In a national first, Weavers Fold is a development of 2 and 3‑bedroom zero-carbon homes, offered at discount market sale, which will be custom built allowing buyers to influence elements of the design and specification of their new home.
Vision for Weavers Fold
Located on the boundary of the historic market town of Chipping Norton, Weavers Fold draws its inspiration from the historical significance of the wool trade and tweed weaving industries when the landscape offered perfect grazing and rearing conditions for huge flocks of the famous Cotswold Lion sheep, often kept in pens known as sheepfolds.
One Planet Living
Weavers Fold will incorporate the One Planet Living® Framework created by Bioregional (find out more atwww.bioregional.com/one-planet-living). There are ten One Planet Living® principles to create a better, more sustainable place to live where people can live happily and healthily within the natural limits of the planet, leaving space for nature. Part of Weavers Fold vision is to create amenity space for community activities such as growing food and composting, plus provision for electric vehicle charging and a car club.
Net Zero Carbon
Enabling Developer, Green Axis, is working to align this scheme with West Oxfordshire District Council’s Net Zero Carbon Tool kit. The homes will be zero carbon in operation with renewable energy generated on-site and the use of natural materials with low embodied carbon.
Custom Build
Each home in this development can be configured and personalised to match buyers’ lifestyles and design preferences, giving purchasers a significant input into the design and specification of their new home. Customisation options include the choice of two or three bedrooms, multiple bathrooms, different footprints, and different layout options for the ground floor or first floor, or 3 storey living. Within each footprint, there are different floor plans, along with a range of choices on external materials, internal finishes, as well as the usual joinery, kitchens, and bathrooms.
Affordable Local Housing
To help meet affordable local housing needs, West Oxfordshire District Council has allocated funding from Section 106 contributions allowing a 20% discount on market rates. This is offered exclusively to local buyers who meet the eligibility criteria. The Council has agreed that this discount will be applied to all future sales, so the houses remain affordable, in perpetuity.
Local property specialists, Wallers Estate Agents, are handling all sales enquiries.
