In partnership with, a website devoted to fresh, new short stories, ChipLitFest's annual short story competition is now open for 2018. We are delighted to announce that Rachel Seiffert will be judging the shortlist. Rachel's debut novel was Man Booker shortlisted; she is known for her spare prose and how the past shapes character. Her latest novel is A Boy in Winter. Details about our latest short story competition are here.

The three winning stories will be published on the ChipLitFest website with author photos and biographies. There will also be the opportunity to feature on our sponsor's website

We promote and encourage quality writing from amateurs and professionals alike, so the competition is open to everyone aged 16 or over by the closing date, 7 February 2018, not only in the UK, but overseas as well.
