Growing up in Uganda, a land of fertile soils and warm sunshine should have been a dream for Lela Burbridge but disease and poverty threatened to destroy that. Lela and her co-writer, Sarah Jarman, describe her struggle to overcome extraordinary odds. Alongside personal strength, education proved to be a way out of the subsistence poverty trap; Lela and Sarah will celebrate how it allowed Lela to reclaim her story.
