CHIPLITFEST SHORT STORY COMPETITION 2021

From a total of 248 entries, judge Isobel Dixon has selected four winners. As a rule, we only have three winners but Isobel was very reluctant to exclude a fourth story so we awarded a Highly Commended category. We are delighted to bring the stories to this platform and hope that you enjoy them as much as we have.

Read all four stories here: the winner is A Place in the Sun by John Budden, second place is I Used to Live Here Once by MS Clary, third place is Requiem for a Woolwich Canary by Sarah Doyle, and highly commended is Waiting for the Light by D Dignam.

Thanks so much to all of you who submitted stories, to the readers who whittled the shortlist to 12, to HW Fisher for sponsorship, and to Isobel for judging.
