SOPHIE RATCLIFFE is a writer, critic, and Professor of Literature at the University of Oxford. She has a particular interest in the way we experience, and record, loss and bereavement. Her most recent book, The Lost Properties of Love, explores ideas of love, grief and motherhood, and was published by William Collins in 2019. She also curates a book collection on Instagram called The Library of Loss. She has served as a judge for a number of literary prizes, including most recently, The Baillie Gifford and Wellcome Book Prize. She lives in Oxford.
