Megan Beech

Megan Beech is a performance poet, named as 'a twenty-first feminist icon' by the Evening Standard, she was the winner of the Poetry Society’s SLAMbassadors national youth slam in 2011. She has performed at venues including the Royal Albert Hall, Parliament, the Southbank Centre, Glastonbury Festival and Cheltenham Literature Festival. Her debut collection When I Grow Up I Want to be Mary Beard was published in 2013, chronicling her experience as a young feminist and the fight for female voices to be represented in mainstream media. 

Her most recent collection, You Sad Feminist (2017), deals with depression and self-worth. Her work has featured on the BBC and been profiled in publications including The New Yorker, Grazia magazine and The Guardian.…
