Julie Mayhew

Julie Mayhew is the author of three Carnegie-nominated novels ­– Red Ink, Mother Tongue and The Big Lie, which also won America's coveted Sidewise Award for Alternate History. Her plays for BBC Radio 4, The Electric Venus and A shoebox of Snow, were both nominated for Best Drama at the BBC Audio Drama Awards, while her most recent work for the stage includes The Fletton Railway Children for Eastern Angles Theatre Company – a free and modern adaptation of E Nesbit's classic story transporting the action to 1960s Peterborough.
