Clare Bayley is an award-winning UK writer for stage and radio. Her plays have been staged at the National Theatre, the Young Vic, Hampstead Theatre in London, and elsewhere in the UK. Her site-specific play The Container has been staged in containers in Edinburgh, London, Baltimore USA, Toronto Canada, Melbourne Australia, Rome and Mexico, and there are productions planned for Malaysia and Kosovo.
Burning Coal Theatre Co presented the US premiere of her play Blue Sky at CAM/Raleigh in January 2016.
Clare is co-author of Playwriting: An Artists’ and Writers’ Companion. She teaches Creative Writing at London South Bank University and Central School of Speech and Drama. She is currently a Royal Literary Fund Fellow based at the University of East London. A former arts journalist for The Independent newspaper, where she was a critic and Theatre Editor.
